We know that with the ever-changing nature of Covid travel regulations, it can be hard to keep track of your travel preparations. For example, the Government has now excluded lateral flow testing as part of their guidance for returning to the UK. Fully vaccinated travellers do not need to take a test, however, unvaccinated travellers must take a PCR test on day 2. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, we are here to help. Keep reading to find out how we can help you enjoy your holiday without stressing about what to do when you get back.
Updated 4/3/22 – Please note, lateral flow testing can no longer be used on return to the UK. Unvaccinated travellers should instead book a PCR test.
After you arrive in the UK, you do not need to take a day 2 test.
In contrast, if you are not fully vaccinated, you must take a PCR test on your return. You should take a test on day 2 following your arrival, however, you do not need to isolate. If your day 2 test is positive, you should stay at home and avoid contact with others.
Regardless of your vaccination status, you must also fill out a passenger locator form before you return to the UK.
NHS Test and Trace analysis has shown the tests to have a specificity of at least 99.7%. They are most effective at identifying Covid in people without symptoms. They are more sensitive when it comes to people who are more infectious. This helps us to stop the spread of the virus by identifying cases we may not have found otherwise.
As well as lateral flow testing (for Fit to Fly purposes), we also offer day 2 PCR testing for your peace of mind, as well as PCR Fit to Fly testing to get you where you need to go safely. We have now reduced our day 2 PCR tests to £35, making your getaway all the more affordable. You can find out more and book in with us below.
